A Study on Trichomoniasis in Women


Abstract
Nurses have long been committed to the promotion of wellness, instruction to diseases for prevention and especially encouragement the patients to undergo pelvic examination for diagnosis and treatment of the diseases in, gynecologic part. And with knowledge of the relationship between trichomoniasis and variable associated factors and in order to for the treatment to be effective they need to expand into new types of, prevention and education.
For these purposes, a statistical, comparative analysis was made on total of 310 women consisted of 210 women who were confirmed and diagnosed to trichomoniasis and 100 women who were randomly selected for control group collected during 3 months period from June 1, 1976. to August 31, 1976.
The obtained results were summarized as follows.
1. The highest age group observed was age at 30-39 and mean age was 32:5 years old.
2. The leukorrhea and itching sensation on genitalia were complained over half of all cases respectively.
3. The incidence of recurrent vaginitis was relatively high.
4. Considering the relationship between trichomoniasis and contraceptive methods, the IUD was relatively correlated to high incidence of disease, whereas the oral pill was not correlated.
5. The pregnancy could not be the associated factor which promotes and multiplies the growth of protozoa.
6. The trichomoniasis was well fixedly infected and highly associated to candidiasis and gonorrhea.
7. There was strong relationship between the personal hygiene and incidence of trichomoniasis:
8. It seems inconceivable that emotional stress and neurotic problems might precipitate the recurrent vaginitis due to T. aginalis.
